Jeremy Hucker - Partner

Jeremy is one of HomeLegal’s senior lawyers. He has a strong practice specialising in a wide range of property work. Apart from his Honours Degree in Law Jeremy has a B Com in Management. Jeremy is a Committe Member of the Friends of TheNewDowse – Lower Hutt’s nationally acclaimed Art Gallery. He is married to Jo who is a GP. They have a young daughter and another baby expected in March.

1. Why did you become a lawyer?
   To become a "problem solver". I think that to know one's rights and obligations is a powerful and important thing and that concept has always been of interest to me.
2. When you are not being a lawyer what do you like doing most?
   Relaxing and enjoying time with friends and family. I am a member of TheNewDowse Friends Committee. I see TheNewDowse as a great asset for Lower Hutt.
3. Where is your special place in the region?
   The Eastbourne waterfront, usually just to relax on the beach but sometimes to swim (when the weather is right!). 
4. What is your favourite shop/restaurant?
   La Bella Italia in Petone. It’s a great place to browse while awaiting lunch on a Saturday for all things Italian.
5. How would you describe your style of practice?
   I try to foresee any problems at the earliest possible point so that they can be dealt with at the beginning of the process. If you are feeling pressured, just ring us.
6. If you had to give a first homebuyer a single piece of advice, what would it be?
   Don't feel pressured into signing a contract without first consulting a solicitor. There will always be time to do this. 
7. What is different about the HomeLegal service that makes it so popular?
